Wedding catering leads
Couples looking for a caterer in your city, sent to your inbox. You pay 15% of the invoice, after the wedding.
Win the event, not just the enquiry
Wedding catering brings together food, staffing, timing and presentation in one quote. Your own guest counts, menus and service costs are a better guide to the value of a lead than a national average.
For illustration, a $7,000 wedding invoice produces a $1,050 commission at our 15% rate. The remaining $5,950 is revenue before your food, staffing, travel and other business costs, not profit. Decide whether the margin works for you before accepting the partnership.
It also changes buyer behaviour. Couples plan months ahead, compare three or four caterers, ask for tastings, and want to talk to a person before committing. The enquiry is the start of a conversation, not an instant order.
What a wedding enquiry looks like
Wedding leads reach you with the detail you need to quote: the date, rough guest count, venue or area, and the service style they have in mind. You will get them while they are still deciding, which is the point at which a good caterer can win the job on responsiveness alone.
Why wedding leads are worth chasing separately
Three things make wedding work behave differently from the rest of your book.
-
Long lead times mean early contact wins
Couples often start looking nine to eighteen months out. The caterer who answers first and sends a clear quote is usually on the shortlist before the others have replied. Because our enquiries arrive by email the moment they come in, you are not waiting on a weekly lead export.
-
The decision is emotional, not just price driven
Unlike an office lunch order, wedding catering is chosen on trust, tasting and rapport. That favours independent caterers who can actually talk to a couple, which is exactly the kind of business this model is built for.
-
Agree attribution before the first enquiry
A guest may later ask about their own event. How referrals and repeat bookings are attributed must be agreed in writing before launch, so there is no surprise over which invoices attract commission.
Wedding lead questions
Do I pay if the couple books and then cancels?
No. Commission is charged on completed jobs. If the wedding does not go ahead, there is no completed invoice and no commission. If a couple cancels and forfeits a deposit, tell us and we will agree the treatment case by case rather than billing automatically.
What if the wedding is eighteen months away?
You are invoiced after the event, whenever that is. A booking made now for a wedding next summer is billed after next summer's wedding, not when the contract is signed. That timing works in your favour.
Can I take wedding leads only?
Yes. We agree on the call what kind of work you want. If you only want weddings, we target weddings and leave the corporate and social work alone.
Will other caterers in my city get the same couple?
Not from us. We work with one catering company per city. What we cannot control is the couple contacting other caterers independently, which they will, because that is how wedding shopping works.
